Wyoming Cowboys Set to Battle Dayton Flyers in Chicago's United Center for Men's Basketball Showdown

As the Wyoming Cowboys prepare to face off against the Dayton Flyers at the United Center in Chicago, fans are buzzing with anticipation. The upcoming game on December 18 is poised to be a thrilling encounter, and if recent performances are anything to go by, the Cowboys have every reason to approach this matchup with confidence.

The Wyoming Cowboys have been on an impressive scoring run, as evidenced by their last home game on December 11 against Louisiana Tech Bulldogs. Dominating with a final score of 92-65, they showcased an offensive masterclass. Their field goal percentage stood at a solid 52 percent and they were particularly lethal from beyond the arc, hitting 40 percent of their three-point attempts. Moreover, their free throw accuracy was exceptional at 87 percent.

This level of performance wasn't just a one-off; it reflects a pattern of high-scoring games for WYO. Just four days earlier on December 7 against Texas A&M-Commerce Lions, they narrowly missed another victory with a scoreline of 91-76. Their two-point field goal percentage was even higher at around 70 percent and while their three-point shooting dipped slightly to around 29 percent, they made up for it with tenacity under the boards – grabbing an impressive total of forty rebounds.

However, not all games have gone WYO's way this season. On December 3rd against Grand Canyon Antelopes, despite putting up a valiant effort defensively with six steals and two blocks similar to previous games' defensive stats – they fell short offensively scoring only fifty-eight points which translated into a loss.

The Dayton Flyers should not be underestimated though; any lapses in concentration or execution could prove costly for WYO. The Flyers will undoubtedly look to exploit any weaknesses and capitalize on home advantage at United Center.

With such high stakes involved in this non-conference game right before conference play heats up after New Year’s Day - it is crucial that Wyoming maintains its offensive efficiency while tightening up any defensive lapses that might give Dayton opportunities.

Fans eager to support the Wyoming Cowboys can catch all the action live from Chicago’s iconic venue on CBS Sports Network channel two hundred twenty-one come tip-off time at eight PM Eastern Time (7 PM Central Time) on Sunday night.
