Wyoming Cowboys to Face Boise State Broncos at ExtraMile Arena in Men's Basketball Duel

The Wyoming Cowboys have had a rollercoaster season thus far. Their recent performance against the Runnin' Rebels on February 9 saw them fall short, scoring 59 points against their opponents' 69. Despite this loss, there were positive takeaways from the game; notably, their two-point field goal percentage stood strong at 56 percent and they matched their opponents with a total of 36 rebounds.

However, turnovers and three-point shooting proved problematic for WYO in that game. With a mere five three-pointers made out of 25 attempts (20 percent), it's clear that perimeter shooting needs improvement if they want to secure victories moving forward.

In contrast, when looking back at their impressive win over Fresno State Bulldogs on February 1 where they scored an astounding 85 points while maintaining an exceptional free throw percentage of 100 percent and sinking nearly half of their three-point shots (46 percent), it's evident that WYO has the potential to dominate when they find their rhythm.

The key for WYO will be consistency. They need to replicate the high-energy offense and tight defense displayed in games like against Fresno State rather than succumbing under pressure as seen against UNLV.

Boise State Broncos will not make it easy for them though. BSU is known for its formidable home-court advantage at ExtraMile Arena and will look to capitalize on any slip-ups by WYO. The Broncos have shown resilience throughout this season and will undoubtedly challenge every shot while pushing hard on fast breaks whenever possible.

For Wyoming Cowboys fans hoping for victory, there is reason for cautious optimism but also recognition that this game could go either way depending on which version of WYO shows up – the sharpshooters who can light up from beyond the arc or those hampered by turnovers under pressure.

As we approach tip-off time at ExtraMile Arena in Boise, ID, fans should get ready for what could be one of the more intriguing matchups this season. For those unable to attend in person, tune into CBS Sports Network channel 221 where you can catch all action live starting at 8:00 PM Eastern Time (6:00 PM Mountain Time) on February 12th.
