In an intense matchup at Chicago's United Center, the Wyoming Cowboys were unable to overcome the Dayton Flyers. The game saw the Cowboys putting up a strong fight in both halves, scoring 21 points in the first and improving to 28 in the second. However, their efforts fell short against the Flyers' consistent performance of 35 and 31 points across both halves respectively.

The Wyoming team showcased determination on defense with seven steals and one block but struggled offensively with an overall field goal percentage of just about 35 percent. They were more successful from beyond the arc where they made seven three-pointers at a rate of roughly 29 percent. From two-point range, they managed to hit approximately 39 percent of their attempts.

Despite these challenges, free throws were a silver lining for Wyoming as they capitalized on all four free throw opportunities presented during the game. Points in paint were another area where they excelled; contributing half of their total score from inside that zone.

On rebounds, Wyoming collected a total of twenty-four boards including sixteen defensive and eight offensive rebounds which led to five second-chance points. Their ball handling resulted in ten assists but was offset by nine turnovers throughout playtime.

Conversely, Dayton displayed impressive accuracy shooting nearly 58 percent from field goals and approximately sixty-six percent for two-pointers while also converting seven out of sixteen three-point attempts which is close to forty-four percent success rate. Their rebounding was superior too; grabbing thirty-three rebounds including twenty-five defensively which helped them maintain control over possession.

Dayton also excelled in facilitating ball movement as evidenced by nineteen assists leading to an assist-turnover ratio higher than that of Wyoming's.

Looking ahead for fans eager to support their team: The next game for Wyoming will be against Saint Mary's Gaels at Phoenix’s Footprint Center on December 21st at around six-thirty PM Mountain Time (8:30 PM Eastern). This upcoming contest can be watched live via ESPN+ internet broadcast network.
