The home crowd witnessed an intense battle where both teams displayed remarkable resilience. The Wyoming Cowboys fought valiantly but fell short in overtime after rallying to tie the game in regular time. Despite outscoring their opponents 42-38 in the second half, they couldn't maintain that momentum into overtime, adding only 8 points to their tally compared to UNLV's 14.

The Cowboys showcased a strong defensive effort with nine steals and four blocks throughout the game. Their offense was led by determined play inside, scoring 28 points in paint and securing ten offensive rebounds which contributed to their total rebound count of 32. However, shooting accuracy from beyond the arc was not on their side as they managed only six three-pointers from twenty-one attempts for a three-point shooting percentage of approximately twenty-nine percent.

On free throws, Wyoming capitalized on opportunities by making twenty-one out of twenty-eight attempts which rounds up to seventy-five percent success rate from the charity stripe. This proficiency helped keep them within striking distance throughout regulation time.

The visiting Runnin' Rebels had six players contributing steals for a total of six and blocked two shots while committing fewer personal fouils than their hosts (21 compared to seventeen). They were more efficient from long range hitting eight out of twenty-one three-point attempts resulting in approximately thirty-eight percent accuracy.

UNLV also excelled at converting turnovers into points scoring eleven off turnovers thanks largely due to fifteen Cowboy giveaways during play. Their ball distribution resulted in ten assists but was overshadowed by an assist-to-turnover ratio lower than that of Wyoming's (approximately zero point seventy-seven compared to one point fifty-six).

Looking ahead for fans eager to follow their team's progress, The Wyoming Cowboys will next face off against Colorado State Rams at Moby Arena located in Fort Collins on March 2nd at 2:00 PM Mountain Time Zone. This upcoming contest can be viewed live via MW Network online broadcast networks ensuring supporters won't miss any action as these conference rivals clash on court.
