Wyoming Cowboys Set to Corral Fresno State Bulldogs at Save Mart Center

As the Wyoming Cowboys prepare to face off against the Fresno State Bulldogs, fans are looking forward to what promises to be a riveting encounter at the Save Mart Center. The upcoming game scheduled for March 9th is not just another matchup; it's a test of resilience and strategy for the Cowboys.

Reflecting on their recent performance, Wyoming has shown both promise and areas needing improvement. In their last game on February 25th against Boise State Broncos, they scored an impressive 72 points but fell short defensively, allowing 92 points. Their field goal percentage was commendable at 50 percent and even better from two-point range at 60 percent. However, they struggled from beyond the arc with only a 33 percent success rate.

The rebounding numbers tell a tale of concern as well; with just 19 total rebounds compared to Boise State's commanding 43, it's clear that Wyoming needs to focus on controlling the boards if they want to come out on top in future games.

The Cowboys' assist-to-turnover ratio in that game was also less than ideal at 0.8. This statistic must improve against Fresno State if they are aiming for victory – maintaining possession and creating scoring opportunities will be crucial.

In contrast, when looking back at their February 21st encounter with Nevada Wolf Pack where they lost by an eighteen-point margin (58-76), one can't help but notice that turnovers were again an issue for WYO with fifteen giveaways contributing significantly to their defeat.

However, there is a silver lining from their past performances - particularly from their February 18th win over San Jose State Spartans where they put up an impressive offensive display scoring eighty points while shooting fifty-two percent overall from the field and forty-four percent from three-point land.

This upcoming clash with FRES presents WYO with an opportunity to capitalize on these strengths while addressing weaknesses such as rebounding tenacity and ball security which have been evident in previous outings.

For fans of Wyoming Cowboys basketball who plan on cheering them on remotely or those fortunate enough to attend in person, mark your calendars: The showdown takes place at Save Mart Center in Fresno this coming Saturday afternoon at five o'clock sharp. You won't want to miss this battle as it unfolds live via internet broadcast networks including MW Network – tune in and witness whether WYO can lasso themselves a victory away from home soil!
