Clune Arena Showdown: Air Force Falcons to Host New Mexico Lobos in Women's Basketball

As the Air Force Falcons prepare to host the New Mexico Lobos at Clune Arena, fans are looking forward to what promises to be an intriguing matchup. The Falcons, coming off a mixed bag of performances, will need to tap into their strengths and address their weaknesses if they hope to secure a victory.

Air Force Falcons VS New Mexico Lobos

In their last game on December 21 against SMU Mustangs, the Falcons struggled significantly with field goal percentages, making only 25 percent of their attempts. Their three-point shooting was particularly lackluster at 17 percent. This is an area that must see improvement; otherwise, it could be a long night for them against the Lobos. On a positive note, they did manage to rack up 15 steals and showed some resilience in the fourth quarter by scoring 21 points – but it wasn't enough as they fell short with only 44 points against SMU's commanding 75.

Two days prior on December 19 against Clemson Tigers, there were similar issues with field goal percentages for AFA (33 percent overall). However, they did show some promise from beyond the arc hitting nearly 39 percent of threes. Still turnovers were high at 21 which is something that will need tightening up before facing UNM.

The bright spot for AFA came on December 16 when they defeated Weber State Wildcats with a more balanced offensive effort and solid defense at home in Clune Arena. They shot over 40 percent both from inside and outside the arc while keeping turnovers down to just nine – showcasing what this team can do when playing cohesively.

For AFA fans looking ahead optimistically towards January's game against UNM Lobos: defense will likely be key once again. The ability of AFA players to disrupt opponents' offense through steals has been consistent and could prove pivotal in this upcoming contest. Additionally, capitalizing on home-court advantage where they've previously shown stronger performances might give them an edge over UNM.

The scheduled date for this encounter is January 27th at Clune Arena located in Colorado Springs; tip-off is set for an evening start time of around eight o'clock local time (8:00 PM). While no broadcast networks have been announced yet for live coverage of this game between Air Force Falcons and New Mexico Lobos women's basketball teams - dedicated fans should keep an eye out as game day approaches for any updates regarding where they can catch all the action live or through streaming platforms available within their region.
