Can Auburn Tigers Outmaneuver Ole Miss Rebels at The Pavilion?

As the Auburn Tigers prepare to face off against the Ole Miss Rebels, fans are eager to see if their team can bounce back from a recent defeat. In their last game on January 7th against Texas A&M, the Tigers struggled, scoring only 44 points compared to the Aggies' 66. The statistics reveal a concerning trend for Auburn: a field goal percentage of just 31 percent and an even more alarming three-point percentage of 11 percent. With such numbers, it's clear that shooting accuracy was a significant issue.

However, not all is bleak for the Tigers. Looking back at their performance on January 5th against Tennessee's Lady Volunteers, they put up a valiant fight in a high-scoring affair but fell short with 67 points against Tennessee's 75. Despite this loss, there were positive takeaways: an impressive free throw percentage of 81 percent and an assist-to-turnover ratio of 1.33 show glimpses of efficient playmaking and resilience under pressure.

The most promising display came in their December game against North Alabama Lions where they emerged victorious with an assertive scoreline of 79-58. This victory showcased what the Tigers are capable of when they hit their stride – a balanced attack with contributions across the board leading to six blocks and seven steals while maintaining control over turnovers.

Auburn must capitalize on these strengths as they head into enemy territory at The Pavilion at Ole Miss. They'll need to focus on improving shot selection and capitalizing on turnovers – areas where Ole Miss has shown vulnerability in past games.

The Rebels will not make it easy; they have demonstrated strong paint presence in previous matches which could challenge Auburn's defense significantly. To counter this threat, Auburn will need heightened defensive tenacity and continued aggression in rebounding – aspects that have been inconsistent but showed promise during moments when victories were within reach.

With tip-off scheduled for January 11th at 6:30 PM CST at The Pavilion at Ole Miss in Oxford, Mississippi, fans should expect an intense matchup as both teams vie for conference supremacy early in the season. Will shooting woes continue to plague AUB or can they find redemption through strategic plays and solid defense? Only time will tell.

For those unable to attend in person, be sure not to miss this clash by catching live coverage where available; it promises to be a pivotal moment early on for both programs as conference play heats up.
