Auburn Tigers Dominate the Hardwood, Outmaneuver Lady Bulldogs at Neville Arena

In a display of sheer dominance on their home court, the Auburn Tigers outscored the Georgia Lady Bulldogs 67-49 in a conference game that saw no lead changes. The Tigers' season record now stands at an impressive 1-0, while the Lady Bulldogs fall to 0-1. The final score reflects a game controlled by Auburn from start to finish.

Auburn Tigers VS Georgia Lady Bulldogs

The Auburn Tigers set the tone early in Neville Arena with an opening quarter lead and never looked back. By halftime, they had doubled their advantage with a commanding performance that yielded 24 points in the second quarter alone. Their offensive efforts were matched by an equally robust defense that limited the Lady Bulldogs to just nine points in the first quarter.

The home team's statistical superiority was evident across various aspects of play. The Tigers boasted four blocks and fourteen steals over their opponents' one block and nine steals, showcasing their defensive agility. On offense, they notched thirteen assists against seven from Georgia, illustrating better ball distribution and teamwork.

Auburn's scoring was well-rounded with contributions across all quarters: twelve points in both first and third quarters and an explosive nineteen points to close out the fourth quarter. This consistent scoring pressure kept Georgia on its heels throughout.

The Lady Bulldogs struggled to find their rhythm against Auburn's staunch defense but managed fifteen fast break points as part of their total forty-nine-point effort. They also showed proficiency from the free-throw line with a seventy-four percent completion rate but couldn't capitalize enough to challenge Auburn's lead.

Auburn excelled inside with thirty-six points coming from within paint compared to sixteen by Georgia, underscoring their physical presence under both baskets. Additionally, they capitalized on turnovers more effectively than Georgia did – seventeen points off turnovers for Auburn versus thirteen for Georgia – despite committing fewer themselves (seventeen for Auburn; twenty-three for Georgia).

Rebounding was another area where Auburn outperformed its opponent; they grabbed thirty-eight rebounds (twenty-four defensive) while limiting Georgia to thirty-four (twenty-five defensive). This included eleven offensive rebounds which led directly to ten second-chance points for Auburn.

Looking ahead after this solid performance at home, fans can mark their calendars for when the Auburn Tigers take on South Carolina Gamecocks next at Neville Arena located at 250 Beard-Eaves Court in Auburn AL USA on February 1st at 7:00 PM Central Time Zone. Fans unable to attend can catch all live action via internet broadcast on SEC Network+.
