The Baylor Bears started strong, outscoring the Wolverines by eight points in the first quarter with a score of 24-16. However, momentum shifted as the game progressed. Despite their initial lead and shooting an impressive field goal percentage of 55 from within the arc and making ten three-pointers for a three-point percentage of roughly 39, the Bears could not maintain their dominance throughout all four quarters.

The team's offensive efforts were led by their ability to convert two-point attempts into points on the board, with a success rate of about 70 percent on such shots. The Bears also demonstrated efficiency in scoring from fast breaks and capitalizing on turnovers by adding eight points each to their tally from these opportunities.

On defense, however, they struggled to contain Michigan's offense which managed to put up an imposing number of points in paint totaling to 52. Additionally, turnovers proved costly for Baylor as they committed a total of 22 during this encounter which translated into eight points for Michigan off those turnovers.

Despite these challenges, Baylor showed resilience under pressure. They fought hard on both ends of the court and managed to block one shot while stealing possession three times throughout playtime. Their effort was also evident on rebounds where they collected seven offensive boards contributing towards second-chance opportunities that resulted in seven additional points.

Michigan Wolverines capitalized effectively on their chances throughout all four quarters but particularly shone through during crunch time when it mattered most – outscoring Baylor by seven points in both third and fourth quarters respectively (22-22;25-18). Their defensive prowess was highlighted by eight steals leading directly into twenty-three points off turnovers compared against only eight conceded under similar circumstances.
