From tip-off to final buzzer, the Baylor Bears maintained control with a consistent offensive effort and stout defense. They outrebounded their opponents with a total rebound count of 45 compared to Oklahoma State's 29. This included an aggressive performance on offensive boards where they grabbed 14 rebounds leading to crucial second-chance points that tallied up to 11 for the game.

The Bears' shooting from inside was particularly effective; they shot at a solid fifty percent from two-point range making nineteen baskets out of thirty-eight attempts. Their ability to score in the paint was evident as they racked up thirty-two points in this area. Despite struggling beyond the arc with only twenty-six percent shooting from three-point range, hitting six out of twenty-three attempts, their overall field goal percentage stood at forty-one percent due to their interior scoring.

Defensively, Baylor was just as formidable. They limited Oklahoma State's fast break opportunities allowing only seven fast break points and capitalized on turnovers by scoring six points off them. The defensive rebounding efforts were led by twenty-eight defensive boards which helped minimize second-chance opportunities for Oklahoma State who managed only five second-chance points.

Baylor's playmaking abilities were on full display as well; seventeen assists were distributed among players showcasing their team-oriented approach to offense which resulted in an assists turnover ratio of 1.21. However, ball security could be improved as both teams committed fourteen turnovers each.

On individual performances for Baylor: one player fouled out but this did not deter them from maintaining their lead throughout all four quarters – leading after each period with scores of twelve-nineteen-twenty-two-nineteen respectively across quarters one through four.

Oklahoma State put up a valiant fight despite being unranked and showed resilience especially during quarter one where they scored nineteen points but could not sustain this momentum throughout subsequent periods scoring nine-thirteen-nineteen across quarters two through four respectively.
