The Baylor Bears came out strong in the first quarter, putting up 24 points against Vanderbilt's 12. Although they were outscored in the second quarter with only 17 points to Vanderbilt's 22, they regained momentum after halftime. In an impressive third-quarter display, they added another 28 points to their tally and finished off with a solid fourth-quarter effort of 11 points.

The home team excelled in several statistical categories throughout the game. They shot an impressive 46 percent from field goals and an even more notable three-point percentage of 43 percent. Their free throw accuracy was also commendable at a rate of approximately three-quarters successful shots made.

Defensively, both teams were evenly matched with three blocks each; however, it was on offense where Baylor truly shined. They recorded more assists than Vanderbilt (18 compared to Vanderbilt's14), indicating better ball movement and teamwork on court.

Baylor also capitalized on turnovers effectively; both teams had similar turnover numbers—Baylor at nineteen and Vanderbilt twenty-one—but Baylor scored one more point off turnovers than their opponents did (21 compared to Vanderbilt's20). Additionally, they outrebounded their opponents by five boards overall (39 rebounds for Baylor versus34 for Vanderbilt), which included securing six team offensive rebounds contributing significantly to their second-chance point total of19.

Vanderbilt did show resilience despite being behind most of the game; they managed a steal count slightly lower than that of Baylor (11 compared to12) and fought hard in paint scoring30 points there but ultimately could not keep pace with Baylor’s scoring efficiency or defensive pressure.
