Broncos Bucked by Lady Rebels' Offensive Onslaught at ExtraMile Arena

The Boise State Broncos faced a challenging contest against the Lady Rebels, culminating in a 63-84 defeat. The Broncos now stand with an unaltered record, while the Lady Rebels improved theirs. The final score reflected the offensive gap between the two teams.

Boise State Broncos VS UNLV Rebels

From the outset, it was clear that Boise State had to contend with a formidable opponent. The first quarter saw them trailing with only 5 points against UNLV's 11. Despite their efforts to close this early gap, by halftime, they found themselves further behind as UNLV ramped up their offense to end the second quarter leading 34-19.

The Broncos showed resilience in the third quarter by adding 20 points to their tally but still couldn't match UNLV's pace who put up an impressive 26 points during that period. In a display of determination, Boise State managed their best performance in the fourth quarter with 24 points; however, it wasn't enough to overturn UNLV's consistent scoring which also saw them netting another 24 points.

Boise State's defense managed to block more shots than UNLV with seven blocks compared to two and also recorded more steals at four versus three for UNLV. However, these defensive efforts were overshadowed by their offensive struggles as they shot only 38 percent from field goals and a lower two-point percentage of just 35 percent compared to UNLV's solid shooting performance of 48 percent from both field goals and two-point range.

UNLV capitalized on turnovers scoring twelve points off turnovers while Boise State could convert only five such opportunities into points. Additionally, second-chance points were heavily in favor of UNLV who scored nineteen compared to just five for Boise State.

Despite falling short on this occasion, fans can look forward to seeing how Boise State will regroup as they prepare for their next challenge on January 27 at Viejas Arena at Aztec Bowl against San Diego State Aztecs. Fans can catch all the action live from San Diego when BSU takes on SDSU next week Sunday afternoon at one o'clock Pacific Time.
