Clemson Tigers Narrowly Miss Victory at Leonard E. Merrell Center in Women's Basketball Showdown

In an intense matchup at the Leonard E. Merrell Center, the Clemson Tigers showcased their offensive skills by shooting an impressive 55 percent from the field and an outstanding 64 percent from two-point range. Their three-point attempts were also notable with a solid conversion rate of 46 percent, sinking 11 shots from beyond the arc.

The home team's efforts were led by their ability to score in the paint, contributing to their total of 30 points in that area. Despite this strong performance inside, they fell just short against their opponents who managed to put up 38 points in the paint themselves. The Lady Bulldogs' offense was equally efficient with a field goal percentage of 50 and converting on nearly half of their three-point attempts.

Defensively, both teams had identical blocks at three each; however, it was Mississippi State's ten steals that gave them an edge over Clemson's four steals throughout the game. The visiting team capitalized on turnovers as well, scoring 19 points off turnovers compared to only five for Clemson.

Rebounding was another critical aspect where Mississippi State held a slight advantage with a total rebound count of 29 against Clemson’s tally of 24 rebounds. This included crucial offensive rebounds which allowed for second-chance opportunities resulting in ten second-chance points for Mississippi State.

One area where both teams showed parity was personal fouls committed during play – each side recorded fifteen fouls apiece. However, it is worth noting that these infractions led to one player being fouled out from Clemson’s roster.

Looking ahead after this hard-fought contest, fans can anticipate seeing more action as the Clemson Tigers will next face off against Tulsa Golden Hurricane at Leonard E. Merrell Center on November 26th at midnight Eastern Time (ET). While no broadcast networks have been announced for this upcoming game yet, supporters are encouraged to stay tuned for future announcements regarding where they can follow their team live.
