Colorado Buffaloes Overcome Kansas State Wildcats 63-50 in Manhattan

The Colorado Buffaloes, ranked 17th, secured a decisive victory over the 15th-ranked Kansas State Wildcats with a final score of 63-50. The Buffaloes' season record now stands at an impressive tally, while the Wildcats face a setback in their own campaign.

From the onset at Bramlage Coliseum, the Colorado Buffaloes showcased their defensive tenacity by accumulating an impressive total of 17 steals and limiting their turnovers to just 16. Their aggressive play translated into scoring opportunities as they capitalized on turnovers to add 19 points to their tally. The team's commitment to defense was further highlighted by two blocks and eight blocked attempts.


On offense, the Buffaloes demonstrated efficiency from the free-throw line with a solid performance of making 19 out of 25 attempts, translating to a commendable free throw percentage of approximately 76 percent. This proficiency helped them maintain distance from the home team throughout the game. In terms of field goals, they made good on only about one-third (35 percent) but managed to convert four out of sixteen three-point attempts.

The rebounding battle was also won by Colorado as they pulled down a total of forty rebounds compared to Kansas State's thirty-four. Of those forty rebounds for Colorado, twenty-six were defensive which helped stifle many second-chance opportunities for Kansas State.


Kansas State Wildcats put up resistance with eight blocks and maintained an assist-to-turnover ratio slightly lower than that of Colorado at approximately .65 compared to .93 for the visitors. However, they struggled from both field goal range (38 percent) and especially from behind the arc (26 percent), while also only converting half their free throws.
