The Duke Blue Devils showed resilience on their home turf despite trailing behind. They dominated inside with thirty-six points in paint compared to Davidson's twenty-two and outrebounded their opponents with forty rebounds over thirty for Davidson. The offensive efforts were led by an aggressive two-point strategy that saw them attempt fifty shots within this range and making twenty-two for a forty-four percent shooting performance.


However, Duke struggled from distance; they made only two out of thirteen three-point shots resulting in an approximate fifteen percent success rate from deep. Free throws were also less effective for them as they scored twelve out of eighteen taken which is roughly sixty-seven percent successful attempts.


Additionally, turnovers proved costly for Duke; nineteen player turnovers contributed significantly to their defeat as it limited scoring opportunities while providing additional chances for Davidson to capitalize on mistakes.
