Clash at FAU Arena: Florida Atlantic Owls Prepare to Host Rice Owls

As the Florida Atlantic Owls gear up to face the Rice Owls at the FAU Arena, fans are bracing for what promises to be a riveting encounter. The upcoming game, scheduled for February 3rd, will test the mettle of both teams, but it's the home team that has been drawing particular attention.

Rice Owls VS Florida Atlantic Owls

The recent performance of the Florida Atlantic Owls has been a rollercoaster ride with moments of brilliance overshadowed by inconsistency. On December 21st against San Diego State Aztecs, they struggled defensively and offensively, scoring only 48 points while allowing 75. Their field goal percentage was a mere 35 percent and their three-point shooting was not much better at 26 percent. These numbers were far from impressive and highlighted areas that needed significant improvement.

However, in their game on December 18th against UCF Knights, FAU showed signs of resurgence with an improved field goal percentage of 44 percent and an exceptional three-point shooting rate of 50 percent. This sharpshooting led them to a narrow victory by just one point – proving that when they find their rhythm beyond the arc, they can edge out tough competitors.

Despite these ups and downs in scoring efficiency and defensive solidity or lack thereof – one aspect where FAU consistently excels is rebounding. In all recent games including their narrow loss against Howard Bison on December 16th where they grabbed an impressive total of 42 rebounds – it's clear that this is one area where FAU could dominate Rice if they maintain their form.

The key for FAU will be to harness this rebounding strength while shoring up their defense which allowed too many points in paint during past games. If they can also maintain or even improve upon their three-point shooting seen against UCF Knights – there's every reason to believe that victory could be within reach on home turf.

Looking ahead at Rice Owls' visit – it’s crucial for fans to rally behind Florida Atlantic as they seek redemption from previous setbacks and aim for consistency in performance across quarters. With focused preparation and execution on game day coupled with robust fan support echoing through the stands at FAU Arena – there’s potential for an exciting showdown come tip-off time.

Remember mark your calendars: The action unfolds on February 3rd at precisely six o'clock in the evening Eastern Time right here in Boca Raton's very own FAU Arena. For those who cannot make it to witness history live - unfortunately no broadcast networks have been announced yet but stay tuned as details may emerge closer to game day.
