From tip-off at FAU Arena, the home crowd witnessed an intense battle as both teams vied for dominance. The Owls struggled to find their rhythm early on, trailing by one point after the first quarter and widening that gap by halftime. Despite a valiant effort in the final quarter where they outscored their opponents by 12 points, it was not enough to secure victory.

The Florida Atlantic Owls showcased determination throughout the game. They managed to block three shots and steal possession eight times from their adversaries. Their offensive efforts were led by impressive assists totaling 12, which facilitated scoring opportunities despite shooting only 38 percent from the field and making just over half of their free throws at a rate of 62 percent.

In contrast, North Texas displayed solid gameplay with higher shooting accuracy from both two-point range (49 percent) and overall field goals (44 percent). Their defensive prowess was evident as they racked up more steals than the Owls with a total of 11 and limited turnovers to just under half of what Florida Atlantic committed.

The Mean Green capitalized on opportunities inside the paint scoring an impressive 46 points compared to Florida Atlantic's 18. Additionally, North Texas made effective use of turnovers converting them into 32 points whereas Florida Atlantic managed only 15 points off turnovers.

Despite falling short in this matchup, there were positive takeaways for Florida Atlantic fans as they witnessed tenacious defense leading to eight steals and three blocks along with strong fourth-quarter performance where they nearly tripled their third-quarter score output.

Looking ahead, fans can catch The Florida Atlantic Owls next game against South Florida Bulls at Yuengling Center in Tampa on February 17th at 7:00 PM Eastern Time. This upcoming match will be broadcasted for supporters eager to follow their team's progress throughout this competitive season.
