From tip-off, the Owls set an aggressive pace with an opening quarter lead of 18-15. Their momentum continued into the second quarter despite being outscored by four points, leading to a halftime score that still favored them. The third quarter saw both teams neck and neck with 18 points each, but it was in the final stretch where FAU pulled away decisively, adding another 17 points to their tally against USF's 11.

The statistics reveal that FAU's offensive efforts were led by their impressive field goal percentage of 48 percent from an overall attempt of 54 shots. They excelled inside with a dominant performance in paint scoring where they racked up 38 points. Their two-point shooting was particularly effective as they made good on 57 percent of their attempts from within this range.

Defensively, FAU also stood strong; they limited USF's scoring opportunities and held them to just a mere six fast break points compared to their own five. Additionally, both teams had three steals each; however, it was FAU's ability to capitalize on turnovers that made a significant difference – scoring fifteen points off turnovers.

Rebounding played a crucial role in this matchup as well; while USF managed more total rebounds with forty-two against FAU's thirty-three, it was not enough to sway the game’s outcome in their favor.
