Can the Florida Atlantic Owls Bounce Back After Road Defeat at UTSA Convocation Center?

In a conference game that saw the Florida Atlantic Owls fall to the UTSA Roadrunners with a final score of 60-76, both teams demonstrated their competitive spirit on the court. The Owls now stand with an additional loss to their record, while the Roadrunners notch another victory.

The game held at UTSA Convocation Center in San Antonio was attended by 751 spectators who witnessed a contest that had two lead changes and was tied twice. Despite a strong third quarter where the Florida Atlantic Owls outscored their opponents 23-20, it wasn't enough to secure a win.


The Florida Atlantic team's performance included making half of their two-point attempts and converting six three-pointers at a rate of 24 percent. They also made 18 free throws from 28 attempts, which translated to a success rate of approximately 64 percent from the line. The team gathered a total of 23 rebounds, with six being offensive and fifteen defensive ones.


On defense, they managed five steals and blocked four shots but committed seventeen personal fouils throughout the game. Offensively, they scored eleven fast break points and fourteen points in paint but turned over possession sixteen times which resulted in seventeen points for their opponents off those turnovers.


The UTSA Roadrunners showcased solid shooting from beyond the arc hitting nearly half of their three-point attempts (48 percent) and were particularly effective from the free-throw line with an impressive accuracy rate of around 90 percent. Dominating on rebounds, they collected fifty-four in total compared to twenty-three by FAU; this included twenty-two offensive boards contributing significantly to sixteen second-chance points.


Despite committing more personal fouls than FAU (twenty-four), UTSA maintained better ball control with only one team turnover against FAU's none. Their assists-turnover ratio stood higher as well at approximately 0.74 compared to FAU's ratio which was less than one (0.56).
