The Florida Gators demonstrated remarkable resilience and skill throughout each quarter. They started strong, outscoring the Lions 22-19 in the first quarter and maintained their momentum into the second quarter despite being outscored by seven points. The third and fourth quarters saw them matching their opponents' intensity, scoring 22 points in each period.

The Gators' offensive efforts were commendable as they made 29 field goals on 61 attempts, translating to a solid field goal percentage of around 48 percent. Their performance from beyond the arc was also notable with eight three-pointers made from 23 attempts. Inside the paint, they matched their opponents with 32 points each.

Defensively, Florida showcased its prowess by blocking four shots and stealing possession nine times from Columbia. This defensive pressure contributed to turning over Columbia's possession nineteen times which led to an impressive tally of twenty-three points off turnovers for Florida.

On an individual level, players stepped up when it mattered most; free throws played a critical role in this tight contest as well. The Gators managed to sink seventeen free throws out of twenty-six attempted which proved crucial in securing their two-point lead over Columbia.
