The game held at Pete Maravich Assembly Center in Baton Rouge saw the home team, LSU Tigers, dominate from start to finish. The Gators struggled to find their rhythm throughout the match. Despite putting up 23 points in the final quarter, their highest-scoring period of the game, it was not enough to close down LSU's substantial lead.

The Florida team's shooting accuracy was below par with an overall field goal percentage of 35 percent and a particularly low three-point percentage of just 17 percent. They made only four out of twenty-three attempts from beyond the arc. Inside the paint, they fared slightly better with thirty points but still lagged behind LSU's forty-two.

Defensively, there were bright spots for Florida as they managed eleven steals and two blocks during play. However, this defensive effort was overshadowed by LSU's seven blocks and fifty-nine total rebounds which dwarfed Florida’s thirty-four rebounds.

On offense for Florida Gators, turnovers proved costly; they gave up possession twenty times compared to LSU’s seventeen turnovers. This contributed significantly to their loss as LSU capitalized on these mistakes with twenty-one points off turnovers compared to nineteen by Florida.

The free throw line also told a story of struggle for FLA; they made just fourteen out of twenty-six attempts which translates into a mere fifty-four percent completion rate – far behind LSU’s seventy-four percent from free throws.

Looking ahead after this tough outing on Louisiana soil, fans can turn their attention back home where The Florida Gators are set for another challenge against Arkansas Razorbacks at Exactech Arena at Stephen C. O'Connell Center in Gainesville on February 8th at 5:00 PM local time (6:00 PM Eastern).
