Panthers Set to Pounce on Miners at Don Haskins Center

As the Florida International Panthers prepare for their upcoming clash with the UTEP Miners, fans are buzzing with anticipation. The Panthers, coming off a string of impressive performances, are looking to continue their winning streak at the Don Haskins Center in El Paso.

Florida International Panthers VS UTEP Miners

In their last outing against New Mexico State Aggies on January 12th, the Panthers secured a narrow victory with a score of 57-52. Despite some struggles from beyond the arc, hitting just 21 percent of three-point attempts, they managed to maintain control through aggressive defense and converting points off turnovers. With an astounding 22 points off turnovers and a commendable defensive effort that included 13 steals and three blocks, FIU showcased their ability to capitalize on their opponent's mistakes.

The game against Jacksonville State Gamecocks on January 6th was another testament to FIU's dominance. They trounced the Gamecocks with a decisive score of 75-50. Their offensive prowess was on full display as they shot an impressive 44 percent from the field and an exceptional 92 percent from the free-throw line. The Panthers also demonstrated depth in scoring options by sinking nearly half of their three-point shots.

Against Utah Tech Trailblazers back in December, FIU once again proved superior by finishing strong with a scoreline of 68-62. Their balanced attack saw them out-rebounding Utah Tech significantly while matching them in points in paint.

The upcoming game against UTEP presents another opportunity for FIU to assert themselves as contenders within conference play. While UTEP will have home-court advantage at Don Haskins Center—a factor not easily dismissed—the Panthers' recent form suggests they're more than capable of handling hostile environments.

UTEP Miners should not be underestimated though; any lapse in concentration could prove costly for FIU if they allow UTEP to dictate play or gain momentum before their own fans.

Looking ahead at this matchup, it is clear that if Florida International can maintain its defensive tenacity and high shooting percentages while managing turnovers efficiently as seen previously this season, they stand a good chance of leaving El Paso victorious.

Fans eager to support Florida International can mark their calendars for January 13th when tip-off is scheduled for 2:30 PM Eastern Time at Don Haskins Center. The game promises excitement and will be available for viewing by dedicated followers eager to witness whether FIU can extend its winning narrative further into conference play.
