Panthers Pounce on Miners at Don Haskins Center, Secure Commanding Victory

The Florida International Panthers improved their record to an impressive tally after a decisive victory over the UTEP Miners with a final score of 83-62. The Panthers showcased their dominance throughout the game, outscoring the Miners in three out of four quarters.

Florida International Panthers VS UTEP Miners

From the opening tip-off at Don Haskins Center, the Florida International Panthers set a competitive tone against the UTEP Miners. Both teams ended the first quarter tied at 17 points each, but it was in subsequent quarters that FIU began to pull away. The second quarter saw FIU add another 15 points to their tally while holding UTEP to just 11.

The third quarter proved pivotal as Florida International surged ahead with an impressive 26-point performance, distancing themselves significantly from UTEP's 23 points. The final period solidified FIU's dominance as they racked up another commanding 25 points against UTEP's mere 11.

Florida International's offensive effort was matched by their defensive tenacity; they amassed six steals and one block during the game. Their rebounding was particularly noteworthy with a total of 38 rebounds—26 defensive and seven offensive—supplementing their fast-paced attack which resulted in nine fast break points.

FIU also excelled in ball distribution with nineteen assists contributing to their high field goal percentage of fifty-three percent from all ranges and an even more remarkable fifty-two percent from beyond the arc. Their free throw accuracy stood at seventy-one percent, rounding off what was an efficient shooting display.

The Miners struggled to keep pace despite putting up thirteen fast break points and securing twelve steals throughout the contest. They were less effective from two-point range with forty-six percent shooting accuracy and only managed twenty-one percent from three-point territory despite making seventeen free throws at seventy-seven percent accuracy.

UTEP also found themselves trailing in rebounds with only twenty-seven compared to FIU’s thirty-eight, which included fewer defensive rebounds (eighteen) than FIU’s twenty-six and equal offensive rebounds (seven). This discrepancy contributed significantly to Florida International’s ability to maintain control of both ends of the court throughout most of this conference game.

Looking ahead for fans of Florida International Panthers is another home game scheduled on January 18th against Liberty Lady Flames at Ocean Bank Convocation Center located in Miami, FL. This upcoming match will be available for viewing pleasure starting at 7:00 PM Eastern Time for those eager supporters who wish not only witness but also cheer on their team live or through broadcast channels available within their region.
