Panthers Claw Past Lady Flames in a Show of Resilience at Home

The Florida International Panthers improved their season record with a decisive victory over the Lady Flames, ending the contest 70-59. The Panthers' performance was marked by a strong second quarter where they outscored the visitors 21-8, setting the tone for the rest of the game. The Lady Flames, despite their efforts, could not overcome this deficit.

Liberty Flames VS Florida International Panthers

The Panthers showcased an impressive defensive effort with 14 steals and capitalized on turnovers by scoring 19 points off them. Their offensive game was equally notable as they dominated in paint scoring with 34 points and secured second-chance opportunities that resulted in 20 additional points. The team's rebounding was superior; they collected a total of 44 rebounds compared to the Lady Flames' 34.

A key factor in the Panthers' win was their ability to draw fouls and get to the free-throw line where they made good on 69 percent of their attempts, adding up to an important contribution of 20 points. Although three-point shots were not falling as frequently with only a success rate of about 20 percent, it did little to dampen their overall field goal percentage which stood at a solid 38 percent.

On offense, Florida International's players showed cohesion by distributing ten assists throughout the game while maintaining better control over possession than their opponents with fewer turnovers at eighteen against twenty-two from Liberty University's side.

The visiting Lady Flames had moments where they shined as well; during the third quarter, they managed to score an impressive tally of twenty-one points but it wasn't enough to bridge the gap created earlier in play. They shot slightly better from beyond the arc hitting six out of twenty-three attempts resulting in approximately twenty-six percent accuracy from three-point range.

As for individual performances on both sides: no specific player statistics were provided but it is clear that team efforts dictated this matchup's outcome more than any single standout player might have done alone.

Looking ahead, fans can anticipate another home game for Florida International Panthers as they are set to face Western Kentucky Lady Toppers at Ocean Bank Convocation Center located in Miami on January twenty-fifth at seven PM Eastern Time. Supporters can catch all action live where it promises another exciting college basketball encounter.
