Florida State Seminoles' Steadfast Effort Falls Short Against North Carolina State Wolfpack at Reynolds Coliseum

The Florida State Seminoles, ranked 22, faced a challenging contest against the number 3 ranked North Carolina State Wolfpack. Despite a valiant effort, the Seminoles fell short with an 80-88 scoreline. The Seminoles now hold a record of 22-3 while the Wolfpack improved to 3-22.

At Reynolds Coliseum in Raleigh, the Florida State Seminoles displayed remarkable resilience and consistency throughout the game. They matched their opponents quarter by quarter, scoring an unwavering 17 points in each of the first three periods before ramping up their offense to add another 23 points in the fourth. However, it was during overtime that they were outpaced as they managed only six additional points compared to the Wolfpack's fourteen.


The Seminoles showcased a strong defensive front with seven blocks and eleven steals but were slightly overshadowed by their rivals who tallied six blocks and six steals. Offensively, Florida State's field goal percentage stood at thirty-eight percent with twenty-nine successful shots out of seventy-six attempts. From beyond the arc, they struggled somewhat with only twenty-two percent accuracy on three-pointers.


In terms of rebounds, Florida State gathered forty-three compared to North Carolina State's forty-seven. The team was particularly effective from free throws line where they achieved a seventy-nine percent success rate making fifteen out of nineteen attempts.


Key players for Florida State made significant contributions; however it wasn't enough to secure victory over North Carolina State who excelled particularly in points from paint totaling fifty-two against Florida States' forty-two and had a slightly better assist-to-turnover ratio at one point zero seven versus zero point four three for FSU.
