In a closely contested conference game, the Fresno State Bulldogs fell short against the San Diego State Aztecs with a final score of 77-70. Despite a valiant effort in the fourth quarter where they outscored the Aztecs by eleven points, it wasn't enough to overcome their opponent's lead.

The game was held at Viejas Arena at Aztec Bowl in San Diego, where 9,918 fans witnessed an intense battle that saw three times tied and four lead changes throughout. The Bulldogs showed resilience and determination as they clawed back from a deficit with a strong final quarter performance scoring 23 points. However, their efforts were countered by the home team's consistent play across all quarters.

The Fresno State Bulldogs showcased some robust statistics despite the loss. They managed to convert nine three-pointers at a rate of thirty-two percent and scored thirty points in paint. Their free throw percentage stood at sixty-one percent with eleven free throws made out of eighteen attempts. Defensively, they grabbed thirty-two rebounds including seven offensive boards which contributed to five second-chance points.

One standout aspect for the Bulldogs was their ball handling; they recorded thirteen assists while committing only seven turnovers resulting in an assists turnover ratio of 1.86 which is indicative of disciplined playmaking and possession control.

On defense, though less dominant than desired, Fresno State managed five steals and blocked one shot but allowed forty points inside paint which proved costly against an efficient San Diego State offense that shot fifty-eight percent from two-point range.

The home team capitalized on their opportunities making twenty-nine field goals on fifty-five attempts resulting in an impressive fifty-three percent shooting accuracy from the field overall including forty-one percent from beyond arc with seven three-pointers made out of seventeen attempts.

Looking ahead for Fresno State fans eager to support their team after this setback: The next game will be hosted by them against Colorado State Rams at Save Mart Center located in Fresno California on January 10th scheduled for 7:00 PM local time (Pacific Time Zone). Fans can catch this upcoming encounter live as it unfolds within Save Mart Center's walls or tune into broadcasts available through sports networks covering college basketball games.
