Lady Bulldogs Outpaced by Rebels at The Pavilion

The Georgia Lady Bulldogs, with a record of 0-1, faced off against the Ole Miss Rebels, standing at 1-0. The final score read 73-51 in favor of the home team.

Ole Miss Rebels VS Georgia Lady Bulldogs

In a challenging encounter at The Pavilion at Ole Miss, the Georgia Lady Bulldogs were unable to keep pace with their opponents. Despite a valiant effort in the third quarter where they scored 21 points, it was not enough to overcome the consistent performance of the Rebels throughout the game. The Lady Bulldogs' shooting accuracy from two-point range was notable at 47 percent but fell short compared to their rivals' slightly higher 48 percent.

The home team's offense proved too strong for UGA as they managed an impressive field goal percentage of 46 percent against UGA's respectable but lower rate of 43 percent. Furthermore, Ole Miss capitalized on turnovers scoring an impactful total of 23 points off turnovers while UGA could only muster six points from this aspect.

UGA's defense managed to block four shots and steal possession another four times; however, these defensive efforts did not translate into control over the game flow. With personal fouls reaching up to twenty for UGA compared to fourteen by Ole Miss and total rebounds also favoring the home side (38) over UGA (26), it was clear that physicality and board control played significant roles in determining this outcome.

Offensively for UGA, there were bright spots including nine fast break points and another nine from second-chance opportunities indicating hustle play; yet these efforts were overshadowed by eighteen turnovers which hindered their ability to establish rhythm or momentum. Their assists-turnover ratio stood at a lowly figure of just above zero point seven-six indicating struggles in ball handling and distribution under pressure.

Looking ahead after this tough loss on foreign courts, fans can look forward to supporting their team when they return home. The next challenge for Georgia Lady Bulldogs will be against Florida Gators scheduled on February 25th at Stegeman Coliseum in Athens. Fans can catch all live action starting from one o'clock PM Eastern Time as they hope for a rebound performance from their beloved team.
