They maintained their momentum into the final quarter, securing another 24 points which ultimately led them to victory. Georgia Tech's defense also played a crucial role in their win; despite recording no blocks for this game, they managed ten steals and limited personal fouls to just seventeen. On the other side, despite falling short on overall score, Rice University's team put up a valiant effort throughout all four quarters. They had six blocks compared to none from Georgia Tech and matched them with ten steals each. With fourteen assists over eleven from Georgia Tech and fewer personal fouils (sixteen), Rice showed commendable teamwork and discipline but couldn't quite overcome their opponent's scoring runs.
