Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets Overwhelmed by Mississippi State Bulldogs' Offensive Onslaught

On defense, Georgia Tech could not contain Mississippi State's attack as they allowed them to shoot at a high percentage of both two-pointers (57 percent) and three-pointers (39 percent). The Bulldogs also outperformed Georgia Tech in assists with a total of 23 compared to Georgia Tech's twelve assists.


The rebounding battle was another area where Georgia Tech fell short; they grabbed thirty rebounds while Mississippi State collected forty-five. This included nineteen defensive boards for Georgia Tech against thirty-two for Mississippi State which limited second-chance opportunities for GT.


Georgia Tech did manage some positive statistics despite their struggles; they scored twenty-two points in paint and converted fast break opportunities into ten points. Additionally, GT showed some defensive effort with five steals but failed to register any blocks against five from Mississippi State.


Mississippi State capitalized on turnovers scoring seventeen points off turnovers compared to eight by GT. They also dominated second-chance points with fifteen while GT managed just five such points indicating fewer offensive rebound chances for GT players.
