The match was a showcase of offensive talent with both teams putting up significant numbers. The Hawkeyes finished with a field goal percentage of 45 and were particularly effective from two-point range where they shot an impressive 49 percent. Their performance from beyond the arc was also notable as they made 13 three-pointers at a rate of 39 percent. Free throws were another area where the Hawkeyes excelled, hitting them at a rate of 79 percent.

Defensively, Iowa demonstrated their prowess by out-rebounding their opponents with a total rebound count of 48 compared to Nebraska's 43. They also registered more blocks than the Cornhuskers, tallying seven blocks over six from their rivals. Additionally, Iowa capitalized on fast-break opportunities scoring an impactful total of fourteen fast break points.

The assists turnover ratio for Iowa stood at an admirable figure of approximately two assists for every turnover committed (1.67), which underscored their efficient ball-handling throughout the contest.

On the other side, Nebraska put up quite the fight as well; they matched Iowa's free throw accuracy at seventy-nine percent and displayed sharpshooting skills by making forty-one percent from three-point land on thirty-four attempts. Their assist game was strong too; dishing out twenty-eight assists which resulted in an even better assists turnover ratio than that achieved by Iowa (2).

Despite these efforts by Nebraska and leading through various stages – indicated by sixteen lead changes during play – it was ultimately not enough to secure victory over the formidable Hawkeyes who showed great resilience and determination.

As fans reflect on this intense championship battle that required overtime to decide its victor, they can look forward to future broadcasts featuring these talented teams as they continue their journey through college basketball's competitive landscape.
