Can the Cyclones Ride Their Momentum to Victory in Lubbock?

As the Iowa State Cyclones prepare to face off against the Texas Tech Lady Raiders at United Supermarkets Arena, fans are buzzing with anticipation. The Cyclones have been on a tear recently, and their performance on January 13 against Baylor is a testament to their resilience. Despite trailing early with just 11 points in the first quarter, they rallied back to secure a narrow victory of 66-63. This win was characterized by an impressive display of shooting accuracy, as they boasted a field goal percentage of 46 percent and were particularly effective from the charity stripe with a free throw percentage of 71 percent.

The Cyclones' ability to control the boards was also evident in that game, out-rebounding Baylor by five. This rebounding strength continued into their next matchup against West Virginia on January 11 where they dominated with an astounding total of 45 rebounds compared to West Virginia's mere 26. Their defensive prowess allowed them only eight personal fouls and resulted in an emphatic win with a scoreline of 74-64.

However, it wasn't just defense that shone for ISU; their offense clicked too. They converted more than half their two-point attempts against both opponents and maintained steady three-point shooting at around one-third success rate across both games.

Looking back further into January 6th's away game versus BYU Cougars showcases ISU's offensive firepower where they scored an impressive season-high of 80 points while maintaining solid field goal percentages across the board.

The upcoming clash against TTU will be no walkover though; Texas Tech has shown themselves formidable at home. The Lady Raiders will be looking for redemption after recent setbacks and will not make it easy for ISU.

ISU fans should look forward to another thrilling contest as their team seeks another conference victory on foreign hardwoods. With strong shooting performances recently coupled with aggressive rebounding strategies, there is every reason for optimism among the Cyclone faithful.

Mark your calendars for January 17th at United Supermarkets Arena when this exciting encounter tips off at precisely six o'clock in the evening Central Time (CT).
