Can the Jayhawks Bounce Back After a Tough Loss to the Lady Raiders at United Supermarkets Arena?

Texas Tech Lady Raiders VS Kansas Jayhawks

The Kansas Jayhawks faced a challenging away game against the Texas Tech Lady Raiders. Despite an energetic start that saw them leading with 17 points in the first quarter compared to Texas Tech's 14, they couldn't maintain their momentum throughout. The second quarter proved difficult for Kansas as they only managed to add another 11 points to their tally while allowing Texas Tech to gain an edge with 18 points.

The third quarter saw an improved performance from Kansas, scoring 16 points; however, it was overshadowed by their inability to contain Texas Tech's offense which added another 15 points. In a decisive fourth quarter, despite scoring their highest in any quarter at 20 points, it was not enough as Texas Tech surged ahead with an impressive haul of 26 points.

Kansas' offensive efforts were led by field goals where they had a successful shooting rate of fifty percent from the field and made twenty-five field goals overall. Their two-point attempts were particularly effective with a fifty-seven percent success rate resulting in twenty baskets made inside the arc. From beyond the three-point line, they shot thirty-three percent making five out of fifteen attempts.

On defense and on court hustle plays though, Kansas struggled somewhat; they managed only three blocks and six steals throughout four quarters of play. They also gave up seventeen personal fouls which contributed significantly to Texas Tech's free throw opportunities where they capitalized heavily shooting ninety-five percent from the line.

Rebounding was another area where Kansas could not assert dominance; they gathered just twenty-seven rebounds in total—twenty-one defensively and only two offensively—compared to thirty by Texas Tech. This shortfall on boards likely impacted second-chance point opportunities which stood at six for Kansas versus seven for Texas Tech.

Assists were also lower than might be hoped for from team play perspective; nine assists were recorded by Kansas players during this encounter indicating room for improvement in terms of ball distribution and creating open shots for teammates.

Looking ahead after this setback, fans can catch The University of Kansas team back in action when they host Baylor Bears at Allen Fieldhouse located in Lawrence on January 10th at approximately half past six PM local time (Central Time). This upcoming match will be broadcasted over ESPN+, providing supporters another opportunity to follow their team as they seek redemption on home turf.
