Kansas State Wildcats VS Kansas Jayhawks

The game at Bramlage Coliseum saw the Jayhawks start slow, trailing with just eight points in the opening quarter compared to the Wildcats' more robust eighteen. The second quarter showed improvement from KU as they racked up eighteen points but still found themselves behind as halftime approached, with KSU adding fourteen to their score. After regrouping during halftime, KU came back stronger in the third quarter by adding seventeen points; however, KSU matched their intensity and put up another eighteen. In a final push during the fourth quarter, KU managed fifteen points but could not overcome KSU's nineteen.

Despite falling short on overall score, Kansas showcased their ability to control certain aspects of gameplay. They were particularly effective in scoring within the paint where they accumulated thirty-six points. Their two-point shooting was notable as well; converting twenty out of thirty-eight attempts resulted in an impressive fifty-three percent success rate.

On defense though, KU struggled to contain KSU's perimeter shooting which proved pivotal for their opponents’ victory. The Wildcats made seven out of twenty-two three-point attempts giving them a thirty-two percent completion rate from beyond the arc compared to only thirteen percent for KU who made just two out of fifteen attempts.

KU’s players fought hard on both ends but were hampered by turnovers which totaled eighteen for them while KSU kept theirs down to eleven. This discrepancy gave KSU extra possessions that they capitalized on by scoring eleven points off turnovers against ten by KU.

In terms of rebounds both teams grabbed an equal share totaling thirty-four each; however personal rebounds favored Kansas slightly with twenty-nine over Kansas State's thirty. Assists also told part of this game's story: while KUs ten assists demonstrated teamwork they were overshadowed by fourteen from KSUs side which contributed significantly towards their win.

Looking ahead after this tough loss on enemy territory fans can catch The Kansas Jayhawks next facing off against Iowa State Cyclones at Allen Fieldhouse located in Lawrence on January 24th at 6:30 PM local time broadcasted via ESPN+.
