Dominant Inside Game Leads Kansas State to Victory Over UCF at Addition Financial Arena

The Kansas State Wildcats, ranked 11th, improved their record to an impressive 72-56 against the unranked UCF Knights. The Wildcats' performance was marked by a robust inside game and a high shooting percentage that left the Knights trailing throughout the contest.

UCF Knights VS Kansas State Wildcats

At Addition Financial Arena, the Wildcats demonstrated their offensive efficiency right from tip-off. They started strong with 21 points in both the first and second quarters while maintaining a solid defense that limited the Knights to just 14 and 9 points respectively in those periods. The home team found themselves struggling to keep up as they watched Kansas State build a considerable lead.

Kansas State's dominance was particularly evident in their paint scoring, where they racked up an impressive total of 52 points. This inside presence was bolstered by converting two-point attempts at an exceptional rate of 64 percent. The Wildcats also showcased their defensive capabilities with nine blocks, effectively stifling many of the Knights' scoring efforts.

The away team's ball movement contributed significantly to their success; they tallied up 16 assists over the course of play. This teamwork helped them maintain control despite committing 11 turnovers – still fewer than UCF's total of 13. Moreover, Kansas State capitalized on these mistakes by securing 15 points off turnovers.

While both teams were relatively even with six steals each, it was clear that Kansas State had a more substantial impact on both ends of the floor. Their field goal percentage stood at an efficient rate of 56 percent compared to UCF's less effective rate of just under half at only around one-third from beyond the arc.

The final quarter saw no let-up from Kansas State as they added another solid performance with additional points bringing their final tally for this period alone to seventeen while holding UCF back who managed nineteen in a valiant but insufficient effort to close down what had become an insurmountable lead for them.

Looking ahead after this convincing win on foreign hardwoods, fans can mark their calendars for another exciting matchup when "the" Kansas State Wildcats host "the" Oklahoma Sooners at Bramlage Coliseum in Manhattan on January tenth at six o'clock PM Central Time. Devotees unable to attend can tune into ESPNU channel two hundred eight for national coverage and cheer on "the" Wildcats as they continue their campaign through this season’s schedule.
