Liberty Lady Flames Dominate the Court at Home Against Aggies

The Liberty Lady Flames showcased a commanding performance against the New Mexico State Aggies, concluding with a 69-53 victory. The Flames' season record now stands at an impressive 8-2, while the Aggies slipped to a less fortunate 4-6. The home advantage at Liberty Arena seemed to fuel the Flames as they outscored their opponents in three of four quarters.


Liberty Flames VS New Mexico State Aggies

From the opening quarter, the Liberty Lady Flames established dominance with a strong offensive showing, outscoring the Aggies 22-16. Their momentum continued throughout the game as they maintained their lead with consistent scoring in each quarter: adding another 11 points in the second, surging ahead with 20 points in third and sealing their triumph with an additional 16 points in final period.


The Flames excelled not only on offense but also on defense, recording four blocks and five steals over the course of play. Their defensive prowess was complemented by an efficient offense that boasted a field goal percentage of 45 percent from both inside and beyond the arc. The team's sharpshooting was evident as they sank eight three-pointers at an impressive rate of 42 percent.


Rebounding played a crucial role in this matchup; Liberty pulled down a total of 42 rebounds compared to New Mexico State's mere tally of 26. Assists were another area where Liberty shone brightly; distributing well amongst themselves for a total of fourteen assists which reflected their cohesive team play and unselfish ball movement. Their assist-to-turnover ratio stood at an even one, indicative of disciplined ball handling against New Mexico State's ratio which fell below one (0.77).


The Aggies fought valiantly despite trailing behind for most parts of game; they managed to convert twelve free throws from seventeen attempts achieving a commendable free throw percentage rounded up to seventy-one percent but struggled from field where they shot only thirty-six percent overall.
