Louisiana Tech Lady Techsters VS SMU Mustangs

The game saw the Mustangs take an early lead in the first quarter with 16 points over the Lady Techsters' 15. The second quarter continued to be challenging for the home team as they added only 11 points against their opponents' 12, trailing by two at halftime. In a decisive third quarter, the Mustangs extended their lead by scoring an additional 18 points while holding Louisiana Tech to just nine. Despite a spirited effort in which they matched their highest-scoring quarter with another 18 points in the fourth, it was not enough to close down on SMU's commanding lead who tallied up another impressive 23 points.

The Lady Techsters struggled from beyond the arc, converting only four out of twenty-two three-point attempts which amounted to an eighteen percent success rate. Conversely, field goal attempts were also below par for Louisiana Tech as they managed just seventeen successful shots from fifty-four attempts resulting in a thirty-two percent shooting accuracy.

On defense, Louisiana Tech secured thirty-eight rebounds compared to SMU's thirty-five but were less effective in generating turnovers and steals; they recorded eighteen turnovers themselves and made only four steals throughout the game. Their free throw performance was more promising though; fifteen out of twenty attempts found their mark giving them a seventy-five percent completion rate from the line.

SMU showed strong offensive tactics with forty-three percent field goal accuracy and forty-two percent success from three-point range. They also capitalized on fast breaks scoring seventeen fast break points and demonstrated efficient ball handling with an assist-to-turnover ratio of one point four-four.

Looking ahead for fans of The Lady Techsters, their next opportunity for victory will be against Alcorn State Braves at Thomas Assembly Center located at Ruston LA on December sixteen around eight o'clock PM local time. This upcoming home game promises another chance for The Lady Techsters to showcase their skills before an eager audience without any broadcast networks covering this event live.
