Can the Lady Techsters Bounce Back After a Narrow Defeat at Pan American Center?

In an intense conference game, the Louisiana Tech Lady Techsters fell just short against the New Mexico State Aggies with a final score of 64-66. The Lady Techsters' season record now stands at 0-1, while the Aggies have started their season with a 1-0 record.

The game held at Pan American Center saw both teams locked in a tight battle that extended into overtime. The Louisiana Tech Lady Techsters showed resilience after trailing in the first quarter with only 10 points to the Aggies' 22. They matched their opponents in subsequent quarters, scoring another 10 points before halftime and adding 16 and 20 points in the third and fourth quarters respectively. Overtime saw them put up an additional eight points.


Despite their efforts, it was not enough to secure victory. The Lady Techsters showcased some impressive statistics throughout the game: they made eight three-pointers out of fourteen attempts, achieving a remarkable three-point shooting rate of about fifty-seven percent. Their free throw accuracy was also notable as they made twelve out of sixteen attempts, translating to seventy-five percent success from the line.


On defense, they managed six steals and two blocks but committed seventeen personal fouls over the course of play. Offensively, they were able to capitalize on turnovers by scoring eighteen points off them and added another twenty-two points in paint plays.


The team's total rebound count came up to thirty with twenty-one defensive rebounds contributing significantly to this tally. However, ball handling proved challenging as they turned over possession sixteen times during play.


On the other side of court, New Mexico State Aggies capitalized on fast breaks for sixteen points and scored thirty-two from inside paint areas which contributed greatly to their narrow win despite having similar numbers for turnovers and personal fouls as Louisiana Tech.
