Lady Techsters Edge Out Lady Toppers in a Nail-Biter at Thomas Assembly Center

The Louisiana Tech Lady Techsters secured a narrow victory over the Western Kentucky Lady Toppers with a final score of 45-41. The home team's record now stands at an impressive 3-1, while the visitors fell to 2-2 after this intense conference game.

In front of a passionate crowd of 1,564 at the Thomas Assembly Center, the Lady Techsters showcased their resilience and strategic gameplay. The first quarter saw them take an early lead with 13 points against the Lady Toppers' 10. Despite falling behind in the second quarter by scoring only eight points to Western Kentucky's eleven, they maintained composure and kept their opponents within reach.


The third quarter was tightly contested as well; however, it was in the fourth where Louisiana Tech truly shined. They outscored Western Kentucky by a decisive thirteen points to two, overturning what could have been another story had it not been for their tenacious defense and clutch scoring.


Statistically speaking, both teams were neck-and-neck throughout various aspects of the game. The home team finished with a field goal percentage of thirty-three percent on forty-eight attempts and were successful on fifty percent of their two-point shots. Their free throw accuracy stood at fifty-six percent from sixteen attempts which proved crucial down the stretch.

Rebounding was another area where Louisiana Tech held its ground with forty-one total rebounds; twenty-five defensive rebounds helped mitigate second-chance opportunities for Western Kentucky who managed forty rebounds themselves.
