Can the LSU Lady Tigers' Paint Dominance Overwhelm Tennessee's Defense Again?

In a display of sheer dominance, the LSU Lady Tigers outpaced their opponents with a final score of 75-60. The victory over the Tennessee Lady Volunteers improved their record to 13-0, while Tennessee's record now stands at 0-13.

The game at Thompson-Boling Arena was a showcase of the LSU Lady Tigers' strength in various aspects of play. With an impressive total rebound count of 56 compared to Tennessee's 53, the team from Louisiana State University demonstrated their control under both baskets. The offensive rebounds were particularly telling, with LSU grabbing 22 against Tennessee's 14.

LSU also excelled in converting turnovers into points, scoring 14 points off turnovers while limiting the Lady Volunteers to just three. This was complemented by an efficient assist-to-turnover ratio of 2.5 for LSU, which is indicative of their effective ball movement and decision-making on court.

The fast break points tell a story too; with LSU scoring a substantial 21 fast break points against Tennessee’s eight, it highlighted their ability to capitalize on quick transitions and turn defense into offense seamlessly.

Shooting accuracy from within the arc was not as high as one might expect from such a dominant performance; however, they managed to make up for it with determination and volume shooting. The team attempted an overwhelming number of two-point shots (72) but had only a thirty-two percent success rate. From beyond the arc though, they shot forty percent which contributed significantly to keeping them ahead in scoring throughout all quarters.

Defensively speaking, blocks and steals were areas where both teams showed prowess; however once again it was LSU that led with five blocks and three steals contributing towards stifling any momentum that Tennessee tried to build.

As fans look forward to future games after this commanding performance by Louisiana State University’s women’s basketball team – known affectionately as 'the' Lady Tigers – attention now turns towards their next challenge on February twenty-ninth at Stegeman Coliseum against Georgia Lady Bulldogs at eight o'clock PM Eastern Time. Fans can catch this encounter live on ESPN2 as 'the' LSU Tigers aim to continue their undefeated streak away from home soil in Athens.
