LSU Tigers Dominate Quarter, Leaving Ole Miss Rebels Trailing in Semifinal Showdown

The LSU Tigers and the Ole Miss Rebels faced off in what was a decisive quarter for the home team. The Tigers, ranked 8th, showcased their dominance early on with an 8-2 lead over the unranked Rebels. The first quarter saw the Tigers outperforming their opponents across various facets of the game.

From tip-off, the LSU side established control with a remarkable shooting accuracy from within the arc, hitting an impeccable 100 percent of their two-point attempts. This sharpshooting contributed to six of their eight points coming from inside the paint, underscoring their effective penetration and close-range execution. Furthermore, they capitalized on turnovers by scoring two points off Rebel mistakes.

On defense, LSU was just as formidable. They held Ole Miss to a mere 33 percent shooting from two-point range and completely shut down any attempts beyond that perimeter as Ole Miss failed to convert any three-point shots. The defensive prowess of LSU was further highlighted by securing one steal and maintaining a clean sheet with zero personal fouls.

The Rebels managed only one offensive rebound which they converted into their sole basket for two points in paint but struggled overall against a more assertive LSU defense that grabbed two rebounds – one offensive and one defensive.

In terms of teamwork and ball movement, both teams had quiet starts with just one assist each; however, it's worth noting that while both teams refrained from foul play – neither committing flagrant nor technical fouls – it was only Ole Miss who recorded a personal foul during this period.
