Memphis Tigers Clawed by Golden Hurricane at Elma Roane Fieldhouse

The Memphis Tigers faced a challenging game against the Tulsa Golden Hurricane, ending with a scoreboard reading 71-62. The Tigers now stand with an unaltered record, while the Golden Hurricane improved theirs. The home advantage at Elma Roane Fieldhouse wasn't enough to secure victory for the Memphis team.

Memphis Tigers VS Tulsa Golden Hurricane

The game started off on equal footing, with both teams locked at 19 points after the first quarter. However, as play progressed, the Golden Hurricane managed to gain a slight edge over their hosts. Despite a valiant effort from the Tigers in points off turnovers, where they led with 16 compared to Tulsa's 10, and fast break points tallying up to 10 against their opponent's 8, it was not sufficient to turn the tide of the match.

The Memphis squad showed tenacity under pressure particularly in their rebounding efforts. They outrebounded Tulsa by grabbing a total of 45 rebounds - including an impressive haul of offensive rebounds at 13 - which was significantly higher than Tulsa's total rebound count of 37. However, this dominance on the boards did not translate into overall success.

Offensively, Memphis struggled from beyond the arc; they only converted two out of thirteen three-point attempts resulting in a mere fifteen percent success rate from downtown. Conversely, Tulsa found more success from long range hitting ten three-pointers and achieving thirty-seven percent accuracy.

Defensively speaking for Memphis Tigers were steals and blocks where they recorded eight steals and four blocks throughout the contest but still fell short as compared to seven blocks made by Tulsa players who also had five steals.

One area that notably hurt Memphis was free throw shooting; converting only half of their twelve attempts which starkly contrasted with Tulsa’s seventy-five percent free throw shooting accuracy.

Looking ahead for fans of The Memphis Tigers is an away game against UAB Blazers scheduled for January third at six o'clock PM Central Time at Bartow Arena located in Birmingham AL zip code:35233 USA. This encounter can be followed live for those who wish to support The Tigers as they seek redemption following this tough loss.
