The Wolverines showcased remarkable defensive skills, amassing a total of 12 steals throughout the game. Their offensive play was equally impressive; they scored an outstanding 40 points in the paint and capitalized on turnovers, scoring 25 points off them. This aggressive play led to a significant advantage over the Badgers who managed only three points off turnovers.

Michigan's rebounding was also superior; they collected 37 rebounds compared to Wisconsin's 32.
