Humphrey Coliseum Hosts Mississippi State Lady Bulldogs vs Vanderbilt Commodores in Women's Basketball

As the Mississippi State Lady Bulldogs prepare to host the Vanderbilt Commodores at Humphrey Coliseum, fans are buzzing with anticipation for what promises to be an electrifying game of women's basketball. The Lady Bulldogs have been on a roll, and their recent performances suggest that they're not about to slow down.

Vanderbilt Commodores VS Mississippi State Lady Bulldogs

In their last outing on December 21 against the Colorado State Rams, MSST showcased a balanced attack and solid defense en route to an 82-75 victory. Their scoring was spread across all four quarters, demonstrating consistency and resilience. With a field goal percentage of 43 percent and an impressive three-point shooting rate of 48 percent, it's clear that MSST has shooters who can cause serious problems for any defense.

The team also excelled in ball distribution with 23 assists, indicating a strong team dynamic where every player is ready to contribute. Rebounding was another area where MSST dominated, grabbing 43 boards compared to Colorado State's 27. This kind of performance on the glass will be crucial against Vanderbilt.

However, it wasn't just offense where MSST shined; defensively they were just as formidable. They limited turnovers to nine while forcing Colorado State into more mistakes which resulted in six points off turnovers for the Lady Bulldogs.

Looking back further at their December 17 game against Memphis Tigers shows that this isn't new territory for MSST. They won convincingly with a scoreline of 81-63 thanks largely due to their defensive prowess which included an astounding twelve blocks and six steals leading them to fifteen points off turnovers.

But perhaps most telling is how they performed against Jackson State Lady Tigers on December 15 at home in Humphrey Coliseum – the same venue where they'll face Vanderbilt Commodores. The Lady Bulldogs put up an impressive display both offensively and defensively ending up victorious with a score of 82-72. Dominating inside play led them to score forty-four points in paint while also capitalizing on second-chance opportunities by scoring twenty-eight second-chance points.

The upcoming match-up with Vanderbilt will test whether MSST can maintain this high level of play across all facets of the game – from shooting accuracy and rebounding dominance to defensive solidity and playmaking efficiency.

Vanderbilt Commodores should not be underestimated though; any opponent coming into Humphrey Coliseum knows they have nothing to lose and everything to gain by upsetting the home side. It will be essential for Mississippi State Lady Bulldogs' players not only rely on past successes but also focus intensely if they wish continue their winning streak.

Fans eager witness this exciting clash should mark their calendars for January 5th when these two teams go head-to-head at Humphrey Coliseum starting at 6:30 PM local time (CT). Unfortunately there are no broadcast networks listed but supporters can follow live updates or catch post-game highlights through various sports news outlets.
