Can Missouri Tigers Claw Back Against Ole Miss Rebels at Mizzou Arena?

The Missouri Tigers women's basketball team is gearing up for a crucial showdown against the Ole Miss Rebels, and fans are eager to see if their team can bounce back after a string of challenging games. The upcoming game, scheduled at the Mizzou Arena in Columbia, MO, will be an opportunity for the Tigers to prove their resilience.

Ole Miss Rebels VS Missouri Tigers

In their last encounter on February 11 against Auburn, the Tigers fell short with a final score of 59-70. Despite showing promise in the third quarter by racking up 27 points—more than any other quarter—their efforts were not enough to secure victory. The statistics reveal some areas of concern; while they managed to out-steal Auburn with 10 steals and provide more assists (15), they also committed more personal fouls (20) and turnovers (22). Their three-point shooting percentage stood at 37 percent but was overshadowed by a lower overall field goal percentage of just 40 percent.

Comparatively, in an earlier game on February 9 against South Carolina Gamecocks, MIZZ's performance was even less encouraging as they scored only 45 points to South Carolina's dominant 83 points. The Gamecocks outperformed them across the board: blocks (11-2), steals (15-6), assists (19-10), total rebounds (47-33), and notably in points off turnovers with an overwhelming difference of 28 compared to zero from MIZZ.

However, it wasn't all gloom for Missouri; there was a glimmer of hope during their game on February 4 against Tennessee Lady Volunteers where they put up a good fight before succumbing with a close scoreline of 69-80. They showed efficiency inside by recording a two-point field goal percentage of over half at around fifty-three percent and maintained decent free throw accuracy at seventy-eight percent.

As we look ahead to the clash with Ole Miss Rebels, it is clear that Missouri must tighten its defense and reduce turnovers if it hopes to emerge victorious. They need to capitalize on fast-break opportunities as they did against Tennessee where they scored seventeen fast break points—a stark contrast from just six against Auburn.

The Rebels should not be underestimated; however, given that this is a home game for MIZZ and considering how close some past games have been despite unfavorable outcomes, there is reason for optimism among Tiger fans. A win here could be pivotal in turning around what has been an arduous stretch for Missouri.

Supporters can catch all the action live from Mizzou Arena on February 26th at precisely six o'clock in the evening Central Time Zone. This matchup promises intensity as both teams vie for supremacy on court—will Missouri rise above recent setbacks or will Ole Miss reinforce their dominance? Only time will tell as fans eagerly await tip-off!
