Nebraska Cornhuskers Edge Past Aggies in a Nail-Biter at Gill Coliseum

In a closely contested encounter, the Nebraska Cornhuskers emerged victorious with a 61-59 scoreline over the Texas A&M Aggies. The game, which was part of the Albany 1 - First Round - Game 5, saw both teams locked in an intense battle that reflected in their season records. The Cornhuskers and the Aggies both entered the game without any rank distinction.

In what proved to be a decisive third quarter, Nebraska put up an impressive 21 points against Texas A&M's 18. Despite being outscored by two points in the final quarter where they scored only 13 points compared to Texas A&M's aggressive push of 21 points, it was enough for Nebraska to clinch victory.


Nebraska's performance was marked by efficiency from both field goals and free throws where they shot at thirty-seven percent and eighty-six percent respectively. Their three-point attempts were also notable as they made six out of twenty-one attempts which translated into twenty-nine percent success rate.


Defensively, while not recording any blocks compared to Texas A&M's two, Nebraska managed six steals and limited their personal fouls count to sixteen against Texas A&M's twenty-three fouls. The team also capitalized on turnovers scoring eighteen points off twelve turnovers committed by Texas A&M who had seventeen turnovers overall.


On individual statistics front for Nebraska, there were no foul outs or ejections; however personal rebounds stood at twenty-eight with defensive rebounds accounting for twenty-three of those and offensive rebounds making up five.
