New Mexico Lobos and Arizona State Sun Devils Set for Showdown at The Pit in Women's Basketball

As the New Mexico Lobos prepare to host the Arizona State Sun Devils at The Pit in Albuquerque, fans are buzzing with anticipation for what promises to be a thrilling encounter in women's basketball. With the game scheduled for November 20, the Lobos are looking to capitalize on their home-court advantage and bounce back from recent setbacks.

New Mexico Lobos VS Arizona State Sun Devils

The New Mexico Lobos have shown a pattern of strong finishes, as evidenced by their last game against the New Mexico State Aggies on November 16. Despite falling short with a final score of 64-73, it was notable that they outscored their opponents 30-13 in the fourth quarter. This kind of resilience and ability to ramp up performance late in the game could be pivotal against ASU.

However, consistency throughout all quarters will be crucial for UNM if they want to secure victory. In contrast to their fourth-quarter surge against NMSU, they started slowly with only 2 points scored in the first quarter. Such a slow start could prove costly against an ASU team that is known for its aggressive play from tip-off.

Looking back at UNM's performance on November 12 when they defeated Houston Cougars with a score of 68-61 at Dreamstyle Arena – also known as The Pit – it’s clear that home support plays into their hands significantly. Their balanced scoring across quarters showed better control of game tempo and should serve as a blueprint for success against ASU.

While much focus is rightly placed on UNM’s actions, it would be remiss not to consider ASU’s capabilities. They bring an intense defensive style that has troubled many teams this season; thus, UNM must prepare meticulously if they wish to penetrate ASU’s defenses effectively.

The upcoming clash between these two teams is more than just another game; it's an opportunity for UNM to make a statement about their resilience and adaptability this season. Fans can expect Coach Bradbury’s squad to come out with determination and perhaps even some new strategies up their sleeve after analyzing past performances.

Mark your calendars: The action unfolds on Sunday evening at The Pit where fans can immerse themselves in what promises to be an electrifying atmosphere conducive to cheering on the Lobos towards victory. Tip-off is set for 3:00 PM local time (MT), but unfortunately, there are no broadcast networks listed; however dedicated fans may find ways through local channels or streaming services covering college sports events.
