Can the New Mexico Lobos Dominate San Jose State Spartans at The Pit?

As the New Mexico Lobos prepare to host the San Jose State Spartans at The Pit, fans are buzzing with anticipation. The upcoming clash on February 15 promises to be a spectacle of skill and strategy, with both teams eager to secure a victory. However, based on recent performances and statistics, there's reason to believe that the Lobos have an edge that could see them dominate their opponents.

San Jose State Spartans VS New Mexico Lobos

In their last game against Gonzaga Bulldogs on December 22, despite a valiant effort, the Lobos fell short with a final score of 56-67. They struggled from beyond the arc with only 31 percent shooting but excelled at free throws making an impressive 86 percent. This loss has undoubtedly been dissected by coaches and players alike, looking for ways to refine their play.

Contrastingly, in a home game against Western New Mexico Mustangs on December 17, UNM showcased their prowess by securing a comfortable win with a score of 71-47. Their defensive capabilities were on full display as they racked up an impressive total of 16 steals and capitalized heavily on turnovers scoring 25 points off them. With such defensive tenacity and ability to punish mistakes, UNM could pose significant challenges for SJSU.

Moreover, when facing Hampton Lady Pirates back on December 10 at The Pit itself – which is known for its intimidating atmosphere – UNM emerged victorious once again with a scoreline of 68-55. Their balanced attack was evident as they combined good inside presence scoring 18 points in paint while also hitting from downtown at a decent rate of three-pointers made.

The key takeaway from these past games is UNM's ability to adapt and overcome different challenges posed by varied opponents. They've shown resilience in bouncing back from losses and have utilized home-court advantage effectively when playing at The Pit.

Looking ahead to the face-off against SJSU Spartans; if UNM can maintain their defensive intensity leading to turnovers while improving field goal percentages especially from long range where they've shown potential but lacked consistency – it's likely we'll witness another dominant performance by them in front of their home crowd.

Fans eagerly waiting for this encounter should mark their calendars for February 15th when these two teams will battle it out starting at 7:00 PM local time (9:00 PM Eastern Time). For those who can't make it in person but want to catch every dribble and dunk live can tune into local sports networks or stream online where available.
