Can the New Mexico Lobos Outplay the Wyoming Cowgirls at Arena-Auditorium?

As the New Mexico Lobos prepare to face off against the Wyoming Cowgirls at Arena-Auditorium, fans are eager to see if their team can carry forward their momentum from recent victories. The upcoming clash scheduled for February 24th promises to be a thrilling encounter in Laramie.

Wyoming Cowboys VS New Mexico Lobos

The Lobos have been on an impressive run, showcasing a strong offensive game with a notable performance on February 10th against Colorado State Rams. Dominating with 62 points and converting 46 percent of their free throws, they demonstrated resilience and depth in scoring. Their defensive prowess was equally commendable; they racked up 3 blocks and managed to keep personal fouls down to just 8, which is critical in maintaining player availability throughout the game.

In contrast, during their last away game on February 7th against San Diego State Aztecs, UNM scored only 53 points but showed tenacity by making up ground with a powerful third quarter push where they scored an impressive 22 points. Despite falling short by seven points in that contest, it's clear that when pushed into a corner, UNM has the ability to fight back.

However, it wasn't all smooth sailing for UNM as they faced a setback against UNLV Lady Rebels on February 3rd at The Pit. Scoring only six points in the first quarter put them at an early disadvantage. They ended up losing by six points despite outscoring Lady Rebels in paint (38-26) and achieving higher two-point field goal percentage (50 percent). This loss highlighted some areas of concern such as three-point shooting accuracy which stood at just 21 percent.

Looking ahead to their encounter with WYO, it's crucial for UNM to capitalize on their strengths while addressing weaknesses exposed in past games. The Cowgirls will be defending home court advantage and will not make things easy for visiting teams.

For fans looking forward to this matchup between New Mexico Lobos and Wyoming Cowgirls – mark your calendars! The game is set for Saturday afternoon at Arena-Auditorium starting promptly at 2:00 PM MST. For those unable to attend in person, you can catch all the action live where available or follow along through various sports networks covering college basketball games.
