New Mexico State Aggies Dominate at Pan American Center Against Western New Mexico Mustangs

The New Mexico State Aggies delivered an impressive performance on their home court at the Pan American Center, outscoring the Western New Mexico Mustangs 89-54. The Aggies now hold a commanding record, while the Mustangs' record reflects their struggle in this matchup.

From the opening quarter, the Aggies set a strong pace with 21 points and maintained their lead throughout the game. Their offensive efforts were relentless, culminating in a total of 89 points by game's end. The team excelled in field goal accuracy with a solid shooting percentage of 54 from the field and an even more impressive 58 percent from two-point range. Their prowess was also evident beyond the arc where they shot 40 percent.


The home team's defense was equally formidable, as evidenced by their ten steals which contributed to numerous fast-break opportunities and ten fast break points. They capitalized on turnovers, scoring an outstanding 28 points off turnovers caused by aggressive defensive play. The Aggies also dominated inside with a remarkable 44 points in paint.

They shot just over forty percent from both field goals and three-point range but were less successful at free throws with only around forty-seven percent made.


The Mustangs' rebounding efforts fell short against those of New Mexico State University; managing only nineteen rebounds compared to thirty-one by NMSU. Additionally, WNMU had difficulty protecting possession as evidenced by twenty-three total turnovers which limited their scoring chances significantly.
