The match-up was marked by intense competition as both teams fought valiantly quarter by quarter. The first quarter ended with both teams locked at 12 points each. However, the second quarter saw the Aggies slightly behind with just 10 points to the Panthers' 11. After halftime, the third quarter brought renewed vigor from both sides; yet again, it was a tight race with New Mexico State scoring 13 points against Florida International's 15. In a final push during the fourth quarter, despite outscoring their opponents by scoring 17 points to their 19, it wasn't enough for New Mexico State to secure victory.

New Mexico State's performance showcased their defensive tenacity but also highlighted areas needing improvement. They managed to gather more total rebounds than Florida International with an impressive count of 40 compared to Florida International's 30 rebounds. However, they struggled offensively with lower shooting percentages across all categories: field goals were made at a rate of only thirty-four percent and three-point attempts had just twenty percent success.

Florida International capitalized on turnovers throughout the game; they scored twenty-two points from turnovers while New Mexico State scored fifteen from similar opportunities. Additionally, Florida International showed better discipline committing fewer team turnovers than New Mexico State who had two.

Despite falling short in this encounter, there were notable efforts from individual players on The Aggies side which included securing seventeen offensive rebounds and achieving an assists turnover ratio of .33 which demonstrated some level of efficient ball handling under pressure.

Looking ahead for The Aggies fans eager to support their team can mark their calendars for January eighteen when New Mexico State will face Western Kentucky Lady Toppers at E.A Diddle Arena located in Bowling Green KY zip code four two one zero one USA scheduled for six thirty PM local time (Mountain Time).
